I began in the construction field as a painter’s helper at the age of 14 (1976) where I learned from a union painter; painting, wallpaper hanging, airless spraying both commercial and residential. At age 19 (1981) I began my own company doing painting and small remodeling jobs. From there I expanded my skills with the guidance of a mentor into larger and more complex remodeling jobs including some new construction such as garages, decks, additions, and such. In 1985 I opened a kitchen and bath showroom in Honeoye Falls which included kitchens and baths, major remodeling projects and new home builds in Rush, NY. I worked as a General Contractor in Rochester for many years until 2003. At this time for personal reasons, I relocated to Florida and became a licensed General Contractor. Being a GC in Florida was quite interesting and eye opening. The building methods and codes are seriously more substantial than our codes in New York. While in Florida, I built several custom remodeling jobs, ICF (insulated concrete form) homes, rebuilt a 12,000-sf church damaged by hurricanes, and a 17-lot subdivision. I brought that learning experience back with me when I relocated back to NY in 2018. I use that experience to make sure that all details of every job be fully explained and understood prior to starting a project and keeping the customer fully informed of the process and progress throughout the project. My employees are skilled, respectful and maintain an organized job site. I perform no changes or modifications to the original contract until the customer fully understands what is included, the cost and if the changes will cause any delays or time extensions in the project. I take a lot of pride in my work, attention to detail, ensure all current codes are followed, and satisfying the customer with the work and fact that they have selected me to perform the work. My success is based upon the meeting and exceeding the customers’ expectations of time, quality and value!
